Opened in 1997, it is a dedicated private health-care unit on a District General Hospital site, offering a unique partnership with the NHS with medical and support facilities on site 24 hours a day. There is an extensive range of services with over 50 consultants practising from the Clinic and all work at the Princess of Wales Hospital.

Bridgend Clinic is a private facility at the heart of South Wales, and is 30 minutes drive from both Cardiff and Swansea. It has easy access from Carmarthen, Brecon, Pembrokeshire and the Severn Bridge, offering private health-care to patients from all parts of Wales and the UK. It is situated one mile from junction 36 of the M4, is a 5minute taxi-ride from Bridgend railway station and a 30 minutes drive from Cardiff Wales Airport. At the Princess of Wales Hospital, the Clinic has its own free car park.
